Any easy ways to create your own website.

I know Facebook started mostly with PHP as the core. Does anyone know if that’s true for:
a) YouTube
b) LavaLife
c) Digg
d) Flickr

Do websites make money? Is the more time I spend on yahoo wesite imply that yahoo is making money on the other hand.

I would like to teach myself how to build websites (I’m not sure what the technical term is. Programming?) Which would be the best program to use? I’m a Mac user and am proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator, although I not sure this will have any bearing. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. P.s. As this will be a hobby, at least to start with, I’d like to spend as little money as possible! Thanks again.

Resume and Cv writing website promotion

I own a photography business, but I’ve not been doing very well. I’ve tried several things to advertise, in order to make it grow, but it’s hard. Do you think building a website for my business will increase my job, and therefore my income?

I need to copy a website (actually just one page, I don’t have to have all the links in it) and put in into my website and just change the words a little bit. But it has to look exactly like the website i am copying. I know this is possible by doing something with the page source (in firefox). But can you explain how this is done for me?
By the way I do have Dreamweaver (borrowed it from my friend)

What are the main reasons (besides for their business) that people create websites?

I need one of those websites where they tell you whether you can trust a website or business? I know they esist, i just want to check out this place called WuTravel. They want to advertise on my site but i need to see if they are trusty. So if anyone know any of these sites…

I am a moderate to advanced user. I have anywhere from 1500-3500 $ to spend and really want to customize a machine for gaming. Any tips or info on how to do this is greatly appreciated.

What can I say? Here is what I got for weeks of hard work:

1) Submitted to google, yahoo, msn dmoz. Weeks have passed still can’t find my website on google (haven’t checked for others)
2) Sent out link exchange requests to a few websites. Not a single reply.
3) Listing charity auctions on ebay. No sales.
4) Google adwords CTR 0.02%. For unknown reason my Ad is not appearing AT ALL, at least when I searched my keywords.
5) Since I built the site myself I think the conversion rate is going to be so low that no one is ever going to donate anything.

And there are other heart-breaking incidents. I’m not eating these days ‘coz I had high hope for this charity thing.

What should I do??
