Hi Chrissy,
You should look into Office Live Small Business. You can choose your own domain name. You get your own @yourname.com email address. It’s template-based, so you don’t need to know how to code. And, it’s extremely inexpensive. I’d be extremely cautious before signing up for a free website because you often end up having pages that are covered in other people’s advertisements. Office Live Small Business is ad free, so your business message comes through loud and clear.
Here are some customer testimonials so you can learn more about it: http://bit.ly/96cuj3.

one.com is not free I paid a one off starter fee of £10.00. The good thing is, people who view your site do not get hit with loads of pop ups, you get a good website address and live chat support which is excellent and has been invaluable in helping me set up my site. You can only edit using internet explorer though and not firefox though of course you can view through firefox.
My site: http://www.thehookandtheb8.co.uk – take a look and see what you can do – they have free tools such as photo album etc.
http://www.one.com/en/ is one.com
Have you seen the commercials on TV for Intuit websites? It says there’s a fee of only $4.99 per month, but I haven’t done research or anything. This seems a good place to start. I hope this helps!
well you can use bravenet free then upgrade later
or just go to blogger use that
still i need more info in creating your website like what business you want !
it’s way more compliacted than just typing in content and installing pictures !
Chrissy,
I have to tell you the truth. Its not a good idea to make a "free" site for a business for many reasons. All free websites give you a subdomain, such as http://www.chrissy.weebly.com, instead of a domain, likd http://www.chrissy.com. This makes a difference to people viewing, and to search engines. Bottom line, people will look at it as a free, inferior website, and you wont get much traffic. And thats just for starters.
Any business should have their own legit website. To do this, you need to spend about $40. Not much at all. This pays for your web host. The web host gives you all the tools you need to make a great website, and to get traffic.
I help people get started with this and I dont charge for helping. If you wish to contact me you can.
you can create a free website at stingesitebuilder.com – although the free version carries some google ads. if u upgrade to one of their premium packs (start at £2.99) you get rid of the ads and get some extra features too
I would suggest that you invest in a paid web host. Free web hosts:
-offer limited disk space and bandwidth
-support only static websites
-may place unwanted advertisements on your website
-give little or no technical support
-could go bankrupt or take your site down anytime
-aren’t very professional, and may turn off your prospective customers
In order to make a professional business website, here’s what you need to do:
1. Register a domain name and get web hosting. I recommend http://webspacehq.net/ — they can do both. Their web hosting plans start at only $4.95 a month. If you need only one website, get the $4.95 plan.
2. Build your website. You can do either of the following:
a. If you’re on a tight budget, DIY for now. If you sign up with http://webspacehq.net/ they have site building software bundled with all hosting plans. Use it to create a simple website. They have tons of design templates to choose from, so there’s bound to be one that fits your business/industry. Write great content, plug in your text and images, and you’re done.
b. If you can afford it, it’s really best to hire a professional web designer so that your site is custom-made for your business. If you would rather avoid dealing with code yourself, ask them to make you a website with a CMS (content management system), which makes it easy for you to update content yourself.
3. Don’t forget to proofread all your text and check out your website in various browsers to make sure it shows up correctly.
4. Promote to your family, friends, and colleagues.
Good luck and have fun!
