Help with first website (DNS ?s)?
I just decided to build my own website. I purchased the domain off of 1and1, and decided to go with www.hobohosting.com as my host. I just completed the registration there and received this email:

So, what do I do now? It says to change the DNS, but when I go to my site, there is nothing. Also, when I go to the cpanel at hobohosting there is nothing. With the DNS automatically change once I go to the links, or what? Please help.
Where can I change the DNS on 1and1? I’m looking for it, but can’t find it in the control panel.
I do not see a DNS management section in either the administration or account tabs.

You will have to log into your account at 1and1 with your domain name (without the www.) as a username and whatever password you used to sign up. Once logged you will have to select your domain and look for an edit DNS button on your control panel.
Once youve updated your details to use the name servers your host has informed you of, your domain will start to forward people to your website. (It can sometimes take a couple of minutes or even a number hours for it to start working correctly depending on what type of domain you bought – in the past ive found .com from godaddy will sometimes start working within seconds whereas .co.uk can take a day or so).
DNS – Domain name servers,
you have to change them with 1and1 so go sign into your account itll be their called "name servers",
basicly they tell one and one where to point your name to,
it will take 48 hours for the changes to comence
If you bought the domain name from 1and1, I believe you will need to make your DNS changes there.
you need to go to where you got the domain name and point your domain name to the servers shown. At the 1and1 there is a link that says DNS Management the should be a place to enter the dns info you got from your host. This will let the servers at hobo know what domain name to point to.
