How can I get my own website in order to advertise my business?
I have an idea for a business. There are numerous ways to advertise your services locally, from newspapers to yellowpages. What about your own website that explains your business and the services and products it offers? How do you go about getting your own website. For example, say I wanted to start a limo service. How could I create a website where people could go to find out about my business? I have some computer knowledge, but I don’t know about these things. Can anyone explain the process to me?

The best way for anyone to do this – anyone with a limited budget, anyway – is to create a content website, based around some aspect of that business.
So perhaps your limo service website could provide lots of interesting articles about limos – the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to limos, and maybe even the people who hire the limos.
If people are looking for this info, and there aren’t already thousands of websites that provide this info, AND you write your pages well, then you’ll easily get people to visit your website. And as these people are interested in information about limo services, the chances are they’ll be interested in using a limo service.
Do you see how this works?
Now, as with all business ventures, you have to do your market research – i.e. you have to determine whether there is enough demand for your product and not too much supply. For online businesses that’s called keyword research.
And you also have to work out how to create compelling website copy so that a) visitors can find your site and b) visitors like what they read.
And you have to be able to build an effective website or know someone who can do this.
It’s ALL do-able. And it’s possible that *can* source all of the above from different places, maybe, or you can just do some research on a service that’s called Site Build It! that’s been specifically created to do ALL of the above and more, aimed at experts AND beginners alike.

A website can get anything from 1 hit per day to 400 million hits per day, but that’s Google.com level! a website is used for advertising over a wide area. Say you live in England, a .co.uk domain would be ideal because it’s not THAT big, like the USA. A website is also ideal if you’re advertising a cyberspace product, such as software for download, web design, and e-mail service etc…
I’ve got a website ( http://www.andrewtaylor.eu ) that I use for communicating with my old friends here in America and back in South Africa. I also host stuff which people like me might find interesting (selected games, fish keeping etc…).
For a wide business and small business, it would be ideal as you can host a large amount of data and use it like a virtual office to let your visitors make bookings, contact you and see what you’ve got to offer.
