How I can I create a website for my business that will let customers upload files?
I only have a dozen major customers but I want to give them a username and a password to access their own files on my website. It will be hosted by yahoo but I called yahoo and they said that doing something like this would require advanced programming.
Essentially, I want my employees to upload files onto the website and then my customers can log in and get those files. Is this going to cost a lot? I suspect something like this is rather common and there should be pre-made scripting that I should be able to purchase (at a relatively low cost) and setup myself.
Maybe you can recommend what I can do? or Maybe you know about a resource I can consult? Thank you, I really appreciate everyone who can give me some advice.
Thanks for soliciting business but what I’m really looking for is something I may be able to do myself or atleast a starting point for my research.

It’s easy…
- Sign up for a free Webstarts account here: http://www.webstarts.com
- Quickly create a page that better describes your website. The web editor is super easy to use.
- Add slide shows and photo’s using photobucket or just upload your photo’s right to your website
- Preview the finished page and send the link to your friends and family

Highly Recommended.
I don’t know what yahoo supports for it’s hosting. I can look into and see. Logins and File Uploads though to a website are not uncommon and are relatively easy.
You do need to know what Yahoo supports if you want to stay with them for a host.
If you want some assistance with getting started in the right direction, then send me an email to: irishtek@yahoo.com and let me know where you are now with your site and where you want to go with it. (Provide a link if you have one)
I’ll do some research and let you know what to expect.
I use http://www.LowPriceBuilder.com for few years. They include Web hosting, Shopping Cart system, Custom Feedback Form, Message Board, Autoresponder Page, customers password access page (so they can upload file) ….. etc. This would be the most inexpensive way to have your e-commerce web site to go online. The builder allows you to create your web page easily without knowledge of coding programming language.
