How to add your website on search engines' results?
How can I add my URL or my entire website on Yahoo!’s or Google’s search results whenever someone typed in the title of my website or any keywords in my meta tag?
I already tried submitting my URL on yahoo and google but it’s almost a year or two and my website is still not listed on any search engines… so, i tried to commercialize my website by posting on different forums, and i tried to create a page on facebook as well… after a week, i tried searching for my website again and facebook is the first result… followed by some random forums i went to..
is this the only way? by posting to popular websites so search engines can discover my website using spiders?
by the way, i am only using a free web hosting service… is that a case?
i remembered my classmate, he bought his own domain name and he’s paying for his domain name monthly… and i tried searching for his website on yahoo and google and found his website listed on the results… i don’t know what he did.. if the search engines automatically did that for him or whatever…
please enlighten me.. i’ve been thinking for weeks now

Ron has covered it really well, but one thing that I have found for blogging is using twitter. It seem that a new blog post shows up much faster in search on Google if I tweet it. Of course, if three or four others re-tweet, it’s even better.
I am not sure how well that is going to work for a website as a whole, but it’s just something that has appeared to work for me.
