I Hate Website Promotion!?
Please visit www.mariostar.org and scroll down to the bottom of the page…………………..
What can I say? Here is what I got for weeks of hard work:
1) Submitted to google, yahoo, msn dmoz. Weeks have passed still can’t find my website on google (haven’t checked for others)
2) Sent out link exchange requests to a few websites. Not a single reply.
3) Listing charity auctions on ebay. No sales.
4) Google adwords CTR 0.02%. For unknown reason my Ad is not appearing AT ALL, at least when I searched my keywords.
5) Since I built the site myself I think the conversion rate is going to be so low that no one is ever going to donate anything.
And there are other heart-breaking incidents. I’m not eating these days ‘coz I had high hope for this charity thing.
What should I do??

Search engines are traditionally slow to index sites. The quickest way to get indexed that i have found is to run a Blog about the same subject as the site.Search engines love blogs as they have fresh content and are frequently updated.
Also if you have a myspace profile, linking to your website from the blog on there is another way to get indexed quickly.Just write a brief article about the site is all you need to do and make sure you include the http:// in the link.
I run a site for basic website promotion and every thing there is free. You can also get a free SEO book to help optimize your site once the search engines index it.This is not a shameless plug but more passing on what I have learnt to help a good cause.
If you need further information just leave a comment on the blog (a nice one please lol ) and i will give you my email address.
