I want to build a website for exposure what free websites are out there and what’s the best one? I’m operating two businesses at home and looking to create exposure. I’d like to start with a free website first to maintain my budget.

Be very careful with that. Having a good domain is one of the most important things you can possibly do. Spend the $10 a year per business and get a domain name. Hook it up to a Google site, and you’ll be in business with a decently professional looking website that you can adjust the content, and most importantly, you can direct people to "my-website-for-my-company.com" instead of "my-company.pinkfluffybunnies.com" and other nonsensical things.
Oh, also, avoid GoDaddy, they’ve been a nightmare.
