Is Yahoo a good place to build a website for your small business?
I just want to hear your experiences. I have a service business I want to start and I feel that a website would be a great marketing tool. I can’t decide whether I should go with Yahoo or another site. Hiring someone to design the site is not in my budget.
Thanks.

If you have just started a company and do not want to use a lot of money you can go to http://www.itscustomized.com and rent an ecommerce website. They currently have a free 30 days trial offer. Everything is built from shopping cart to admin panel to allow you to upload your merchandise. The best part is you can rent this ecommerce website complete with paypal payment gateway for little money and no long term commitment either. You can cancel anytime you like. I have my own store and have been using them for almost a year now.
I think Prostores is better because you make a website and post items but the item is also listed on ebay.
Well, this is only my personal opinion, but when I went searching for services last year that would help me put together my website (I own a coffee roasting company), I considered Yahoo carefully. I liked the integration of services, such as domain names, hosting and merchant services.
The problem was that I didn’t think (and still don’t) that Yahoo’s customer service was as responsive as other services I checked. I want someone — a real human — to answer the phone in case I need assistance. What I don’t want is having to peck around in some convoluted Help system that removes human interaction entirely.
So, I found a service that provides everything that Yahoo provides with a toll-free, real telephone number that’s easy to get to for help. I actually had to use it once, when I screwed up my SSL configuration; nice to know it was there
Hope this answers your question to some degree. Good luck with your business!
I have used Yahoo, 1&1, and others. I think that for the money, capabilities, and all other aspects, I would recommend 1&1. You can check out my websites below. I am using their form builder, website creater, database builder, email system…(all included, free of charge, and require no programming expertise). But the biggest plus is that 1&1 provides 24/7 live support. With Yahoo, you have to email them.
