Need a website to collect mailing address data to target neighbors of my restaurant?
I am doing some self promotion and I would like to mail coupons to potential customers who live within a mile radius to my restaurant. I cannot afford to pay for a service to give me the addresses and i do not wish to purchase pre-addressed labels, just do the mailing in house. Any suggestions?
In the old OLD days, I could use yahoo phone book and it showed adjacent neighbors etc but i don’t see that it does that now.
Thanks!

Mailing lists are worth big money. Because of the value of such a list, it’s very likely everything you dig up will require a fee to access and use it. The "free" option would be to compile your own list from the publicly available but unsorted information such as zip code lookups, names and street addresses in the white pages, and so on.
In your position, to save money I would just hand-deliver the (unaddressed) coupons on foot myself, working block by block until I’d hit all the houses I wanted. Not fast, but it sure is inexpensive.
I am in the direct mail business, and I will tell you that the mailing list is not where the majority of your cost is- the printing and postage are where the costs are. A saturation mailing like yours is the least expensive type to do.
If you can’t afford to do it right, maybe you shouldn’t do it at all.
You can search in google using your zip code. I did this and made a good mailing list of about 300 people in a couple of hours. One thing often overlooked is asking your customers for their email address. I told people they would get a 5.00 coupon when they signed up for our mailing list. (the coupon was the first mailing) Every day I got about 50 new email addresses. I sent an email at least every two weeks.
If you offer an incentive, people will sign a maiing list, or an email list. Marketing to people who already are your customers is a good way to do it.
If you do make a list from searching, pick types of businesses where people often eat out. Doctors offices, schools, office buildings, etc.
Good luck with your promotion! It is difficult to catch peoples attention these days, putting something into their hands is the best way! Rather than spend 500.00 on advertising, give 100 5.00 coupons to all of your friends and neighbors.
