SEO stuff…How can I get traffic to my site?
I am starting out with a new blog at blogger.com and was wondering how i can get people to pour into my site from the google search engines. I have been doing some research on keywords but don’t understand what it mean when someone says that they would start with a long tail keyword and work their way up to rank for their primary keyword. Please help….anyone…

Depending on your blogs subject matter, product, or service you are offering, it can tough since you are competing with a lot of people of ad space. You can start off with Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing. Make sure you budget your ad campaigns cause it can easily run you thousands of dollars (that is how those search engines make money) if you don’t track it carefully.
Long tail keywords are words that, in general, are not broad. For instance, "pearls" is a broad term with high potential traffic if you are willing to bid high for it. On the other hand, "black pearls from Tonga" is very precise term and considered "long tail". You may not get very many clicks with that, but your competition will be low and you will not have to pay that much for your ads. On the other hand, the amount of traffic will also be low.
Hi there,
SEO isn’t any easy subject to learn and wrap you hands around. There are many aspects to SEO, with Keywords being what I consider, the most important. Long tail keys are keywords that are very specific, they will be easier to go after, but may not produce as many visitors.
Hope this helps,

First up, you cannot get high traffic from search engines yet, but you can get it from social bookmarking sites, social networking sites, forums, and other sites which may contain high traffic.
A long tail keyword is something like traffic to your site new york it would be easier to rank for this than for traffic to your site. Basically it’s just making your keyword phrases longer where there is less competition.
Hello,
It’s a little tough with a blog – you can’t really change all the coding and all.
Google is REALLY smart. It knows what to add and what not to add.
The basics of SEO is this:
1. Link popularity
2. Traffic
3. Keywords
So you need a lot of links to get into the SEs, you need a lot of traffic, and your site needs to be relevant.
Start working on that stuff!
Good luck!
