I am in need of a website designed. I have a graphic designer asking me do I just want design services or do you want SEO as well? I am working on a limited budget will the design plus "SEO" cost me an arm and a leg? if so are there separate companies who do SEO?

I have been looking and receiving many and varied opportunity emails. As yet I have only felt like a prospect, a lead and a newbie.When you have no money and little understanding for making your own product, marketing it and affiliating with those who do know how brings you diddly squat, what do you do? There are a lot of dead ends and detours with many available gurus at quite a price. I have tried surveys, blogging, articles, ads,leads. I have even considered writing an ebook . Ebay is another offer I had and I see potential but at a price over and above my 0$ budget. I am looking for advice on how to market/advertise my online baby boutique with a very small advertising budget. I signed on with Network Solutions, and they have reworked my site to be more easily recognized by the search engines. I have also signed up for their keywords campaign. But at 0.00 a month, I don’t think that is the best choice for me. I am at a loss with trying to figure it out on my own. My budget is very small. I am looking for ways to promote my boutique and bring in shoppers. I am so busy with all of the other facets of the business, that I don’t have tons of time to devote to researching different ways of advertising. What are the best ways to get my boutique noticed and shopped? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I am very dedicated to the success of my boutique! Thank you!

I’m looking (in the future) to set up a website to put an audio drama podcast on. It’d probably only have to have one page. Ideally it’d have an illustration on it (one I’ve drawn, scanned and uploaded), some text about the podcast and links for people to download (free) probably monthly episodes.

I’ve heard that libsyn is great for handling the podcasting part. Thing is, I have no idea whatsoever about the rest of it or how it fits together. I’ve looked at supposedly ‘easy’ how-to guides, but what I really don’t understand is:

I’d like a personalised domain name. I know where to go to register one of these, but does that name then work if I set up a website with a company who didn’t sell me the domain name?
Places like Godaddy then offer websites, but does that then work with lisbyn? Is that something else entirely?

I am a total beginner, UK based & have no webwriting software on my pc, so the simpler the better. I don’t have a big budget.

I work for a nonprofit in Chicago working with the Latino community providing adult basic education and vocational training. We have 3 computer labs for students and 2 community technology centers that currently do not (but SHOULD) have this software. My strength is in web development. I have a strong knowledge of HTML, Coldfusion, PHP, SQL and JavaScript. For design, I’m also very knowledgable in CSS and jQuery (including AJAX). I can put all of this together into a website or web application no problem. But, the end result is never something I’m very visually satisfied with. And I know if I’m not happy with it, others are going to feel the same way.

Can anyone recommend an outstanding course (up to 5 days) or online training that could help me out? I’m looking for something advanced enough to be able to teach me the principles, must-haves, must-avoids, tips, tricks, etc. to design a website that’s on par with popular websites of today (as opposed to basic, run-of-the-mill, brochure-like websites.) FYI: I have a budget through work, so I can pay for the training and for travel within the US if necessary.

"king," I think you’re right on… Looking at great site design is a good way to start. But, I need to know what I’m looking for. Ix, graphic design courses sound like they might work.
