I know a little bit about web design, but I have to admit I’m a beginner at this sort of stuff. I’m just curious at how one would go about building a website from scratch using strictly CSS and HTML without having to deal with the PHP involved? What tools would I need to use?

I am building a website and I need good information about internet marketing. Is there any site that offers some good ebooks or articles related to internet marketing?

So, I haven’t built a website in well over five years, and when I did, I was just having fun with it because it was only for me. I knew basic HTML–that’s the extent of my knowledge. No CSS or JAVA, etc.

I’m not familiar with what companies are currently out there to host and help with building a website. I’m looking for:

1) free with very minimal ads or low cost with no ads
2) an easy, yet powerful editor–probably WYSIWYG style–that allows for a professional appearance

This would be for a small business, mainly as a way to give their customers basic info. Please give some basic info about costs and what the editor is like. It would be nice to possibly see a website created with the editor. Thank you for you help!

I am hoping I get get some answers here, I am building a website for a small business.
Its a few questions about keywords I have done loads of research on keywords but I am still not sure of what I should do. Should my keywords match my title on the website, and the description also my content.

I know that I have to put keyword phrases from my content that will help me get seen.
I also know that I should be looking for phrases that are not got millions pages.

Am i on the right track ?

I have also setup google adwords so that I can get clicks on my site.
If someone could help I would be so happy lol.

A client I’ve done web design for sent me the following note, wanting me to train him to create websites in a couple of hours. I took 40+ hours of college courses to earn a certificate and have created many sites over the last 6-7 years. Not sure how to answer him!

"Also what would it cost to spend a couple of hours with you to learn some basics about building a website. The sites will be very simple one page… sales letter type sites that will have few links."

I am building a website for a small business, most likely using InMotion as my host with a SSL Certification. Does anyone know what additional steps are necessary to set up credit card payments? Do web hosts offer services that services that monitor and control those transactions or is it up to me to input the code and find the service to accept the transactions.

I am building a website for class and I would like to add a whole page devoted to music. What I would like to do is have a selection of songs available and when someone chooses to play one, any other music on the page stops and the page displays the lyrics of the chosen song. 1. Set the website up so you have to be a member in order to view 90% of the information. Thus needing to set it up so that some can be viewed as a non member.

2. To accept payments? Not sure how to do this or what forms of payments to accept? Most cost effective way is the best.

3. Best methods / programs to use for advertising.

4. The ability to set up games or on line test.

5. We want to be able to add video for "class" projects.
