I have done everything imaginable for this to work with SEO ( Search engine optimization). But unsure why this is a failure. I also purchased my own domain name www.dlusb.co.uk. Has anyone ever made eBay partners work for them is this possible or is this adverting online business rubbish.
Anyone in the business and could help. I am willing to pay for a service to rectify the problem.
I am doing a research project and need to create a web site that features hundreds of photos. Each photo has a lengthy caption. The site visitor needs to be able to do a keyword search and call up all the photos whose captions match the keywords in their search. Some of the photo captions need to have hot links to other pages. In essence, the site is a home page, a searchable photo database with text that describes the photos, a message board or email link, and about 10 more pages of text about other topics.
I have never done a web site. I have a domain name and a web host. The easy part. Now, what program to use? I’d appreciate your opinion as to whether I should spend the money and buy DreamWeaver or if I could use the free KomPozer or how I could determine if one of the web-builder programs offered by the web hosting companies might work ????
Thanks for your help!
I am interested in creating a website to promote my work as a writer. I have never had a website before. Is it better to buy a domain name rather than use a free space like google provides or is a google site good for a beginner such as myself? Also any suggestions on where to obtain free or paid domains and web hosting would be appreciated. Thanks
We have three different websites. All of them have their main domain name and then multiple other domain names that also point to them. We want to get a web host that we can have all the sites on one account with multiple paths. (Different folders, and each folder is a different domain name.) Does anyone know how this effects search engines? Is it good or bad – or does it even matter at all?
Hi,
I have a website http://www.boyceweb.com which I have optimised for the keyword BoyceWeb. I do Web Design and SEO for a living and have my clients top of Google for their keywords yet I can’t seem to do it for my own!
On page factor wise, I have BoyceWeb in the domain, header, start of title, start of description and in ALT Tags. The site is itself is very optimised, clean URL’S, registered with Google and sitemap submitted. I am currently second for the keyword ‘BoyceWeb’ the website which is top is a family genealogy which is not optimised for ‘BoyceWeb’ indeed only on one page is that keyword even mentioned!
Although my site has only been up a few months the domain name is 7 years old and I know Google like Domain Age. I have been building niche relevant, authority backlinks to my website and I am updating my website content.
I have done my research behind the genealogy website and part from domain age and a few more PR 0 backlinks I outclass it from for the keyword ‘BoyceWeb’ so I do not understand why my website is not top for that keyword.
Can anyone else shed any light on this for me? Is it a case of patience? How long do you think it will take? Is there something else I can do?
I would really appreciate any feedback,
Many Thanks

I know having a relevant domain name (i.e. www.computers.com) can help with search engine ranking, but to what degree (if at all) does the URL as a whole count towards the ranking? By whole URL I mean something like "www.computers.com/sale-computers/cheap_computers.html" where there is a folder that contains a keyword or two, and where the html file itself is appropriately named. Does it make much of a difference? If I’m trying to get a website ranked higher, should I add folders with relevant keywords, and make sure all of the pages themselves have keywords?
Hello all, I hope you can help.
I’m approx 1/3 the through designing a website.
When I first started on the site, I originally uploaded all the files to a temporary domain name http://www.riggerz.org just whilst I waited for a suitable DN to come through.
Anyway, as soon as I received the new DN, http://www.beautyboxworcester.co.uk I immediately pulled all the files down from the temporary DNS and uploaded then to the new one.
All good, site works etc etc…
Only problem is, when I started adding key words and description tags for google, they all point to the old DN. I don’t understand why this is though, I didn’t even start creating these keywords until after I received the new DN.
The words I typed into GOOGLE are ‘beauty box worcester’
Can someone help, this is a bad problem!!!!!
Thanks all..
Hey!
so im an amateur graphic designer like i haven’t had any formal training or anything but im actually quite good at it lol i know that doesn’t sound convincing in the least but i really am
so i was thinking i could set up a website where Up-and-Coming artist could come and have there own domain name such as www.graphicdesign.com/upandcomingartist
and i would design there page for them and they wouldn’t have to pay me unless they were satisfied with the site
or for a lesser amount people could buy there own domain name like
www.Upandcomingartist.com
and i would design it for them
anyway how much do you think people would pay..and do you think they would pay at all?
i dont know how domain names work?
maybe you could tell me exactly what i had wrong?
OK
it was an example lol it doesn’t matter
and adding /blahblahblah makes it a new page…thus letting everyone have there own page
I run an e-commerce website as a side project. I have a domain name from GoDaddy, and use ProStores as a host. The problem is, my business is seasonal, so I have to close my ProStores account during the winter to cut costs. I designed a "closed for winter" page on MS Publisher- how do I set my website to show this page? Thanks for the help!
I am setting up a business website, but i want to know if you have to pay all those yearly fees like domain name shopping cart, and all that other stuff to company’s like godaddy.com or is there a way to set all that stuff up by yourself?
website with email, domain name and have Data form for new customers and may be in the Futur tracking order.
I am starting up a small business and would like to find the best web hosting service with domain name to store my site.
I have created web sites using iWeb before and it would be helpful if there were templates that I can use to help me design my pages as I am not a web designer.
I was looking into hostgator, but I’m not sure if they allow you your own .com domain. I like their 0 Google Adwords credit for signing up.
I want to create a website with my own domain name and i am looking for a reasonable cheap price to do this. Also what is the average price of a website with my own domain name? Also, are there any that are user friendly without using HTML? i dont know how.
I am trying to set up a website for my photography business and I need to pick a domain name and business name.
I am a photographer for weddings, maternity photos, modeling shoots, special events, etc.
Should I just name my business after me? Example with fake name: Alison Patrickson Photography and make my website: www. AlisonPatricksonPhotography .com
OR
Should I give my business a name even though I am the one and only photographer? Example: Special Events Photography and make my website:
www. SpecialEventsPhotography .com
