I run an e-commerce website as a side project. I have a domain name from GoDaddy, and use ProStores as a host. The problem is, my business is seasonal, so I have to close my ProStores account during the winter to cut costs. I designed a "closed for winter" page on MS Publisher- how do I set my website to show this page? Thanks for the help!

Hi,
I’m turning 18 soon and I want to start a small business designing and building websites for local small businesses. I have designed sites for friends and church. How do I start this small business? If anyone has done this, I’d greatly appreciate it. How do I host the site and domain names? I’ve looked into GoDaddy but wanted your opinion. Thanks everyone. :)

I was thinking about making my own website through GoDaddy, how would I go about getting money off of that site I build?

I’m about to create my own website through godaddy so that I can sell some of the woodcraft items I make.

However, a question arose when pursuing this:

Do I need to get some sort of business permit or license to sell items online through my website?

Thanks!

I want to create a website, and I want to use a software to create it.

1. If I have a host, do I have to pay them for each domain I create?
What If I just want to practice before creating the actual site, where can I go "within the host" to do that?

2. Do I have to register my domain name BEFORE I start working on the website?

I’m a bit confused. I’m looking at godaddy and website palace. I made an account in Godaddy, but I’m unsure how to get started.

3. How can I start creating my page with go daddy through coffee shop or something else???

HELP PLEASE… I NEED CLEAR AND PRECISE ANSWERS

are there any online html editors (or website builders or anything) that are not tied to hosting?

example: is there ANY online way to edit a page on my site hosted on godaddy (except use of godaddy’s own lame system) ????

if the website builders and templates and all that stuff is ONLY a FEATURE of a hosting service, then why all the big promotion of the ‘website builders’ and ‘online html editors’ by independent parties?

with all the yelling about "online" this and that and "web 2.0", is the situation truly that in order to edit my godaddy hosted sites i must either use their lame/lousy online tools or be tied to my own computer hard drive? There is NO OTHER online/web-based solution for editing html pages???? TIA for any clarification
what about online editing of files that i can access online directly in ftp space? I now can go to ftp space in browser, but have to edit even trivial html files offline. There isn’t even something as simple as Notepad online???? Or ANYTHING that i can use online for simple editing?
Not looking for free. If the online tool allows me to do simple edits, like adding links, when i away from my own computer, i will pay a lot. / Buying Dreamweaver for what i need (simple things like adding links to a page) would be like hiring the Dallas Cowboys to put away my groceries: It would be total overkill; it would cost lots and lots of time to learn how to get them to put the stuff where i want it; and i’d be totally tied to my desk. Investing in Dreamweaver would be like buying a luxury house-prison that can’t move one inch, when what i need is a way to do simple tasks away from my desk.

I already bought a domain through GoDaddy. Now I need to build the Social Networking site. Is there a tutorial out there, a program, or code i can use? Don’t know much about building websites, but I have an idea and want to try to make it work.I would love to use something like Ning.com or Kickadds but doesnt look like they let you use your own domain (if there is a way, i would love to hear it). I can host on a friend’s server if needed. Please help.
Thanks.

I currently have a website with GoDaddy.com. They have their own website creator program. I would like to make changes to some of the file names and file content to improve the search engine optimization of my website. I am a little confused now how I can do that with GoDaddy or any other hosted website provider…should I get Dreamweaver? Which FTP server do I need to connect to…I would appreciate if you could guide me in the right direction! Thanks.
I am basically looking for ways to FTP the files…do I need to download an FTP client?

I am thinking of building a adventure guide website and was wondering what company I could use to build a website and where i could register my domain name? I have a couple that I am looking into like www.threehosts.com , www.yola.com, www.worldpress.com, godaddy, tophostingpicks???

Any helpful information would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have recently spoke wiith my financial advisor about purchasing domain names and building websites. He said since I have some extra capital to use this could be a very exiciting and lucrative venture. There are two domain names up for auction on godaddy that I am interested in one is www.fasttires.com the other is www.findyourdreamgirl.com. Fasttires is already going for ,000 and findyourdreamgirl.com is listed for ,995 my advisor thinks this is a good price to move on before it goes up it could be the next match.com. What do you guys know about these sort of investments I want to build my own web business.

I’m interested in creating a website for my family hardware store. I’ve looked at godaddy and yahoo. Yahoo looks fairly user friendly. Does anyone have first hand experience with creating a site. If so do you have any tips?

Hi, i have about 5 domains registered through different registrars like godaddy and namecheap. If i have built websites for all this 5 and wanted to host them in one hosting account, is it possible?
Any recommendation in getting this done less expensively and easier to manage?
Any suggestions with hosting accounts?
