Sometimes I don’t apply for high-level jobs that technically speaking, I am qualified for, because I have a sense of not being "good enough." I don’t submit articles to profitable markets for the same reason.
I am doing a research paper on the ethics of socialism vs. capitalism in the work place using Charles Dickens’ Hard Times as a reference. I want to compare the fact that people that work long hours at grueling jobs deserve more pay than the bossman ahead of them – or more a more modern and specific example could be a paramedic/fireman to an actor/singer. I am needing solid sources, mostly from books within the library, but I can’t seem to find a good keyword for it. I am sure its out there, so if you could help me with the word or some solid internet sources/books I would be more than grateful
ADDED: My paper isn’t on the boss vs. the common worker, that was the example in the book Hard Times. I am relating it to the the paramedic/laborer/factory worker to that of people who contribute nothing more to society than entertainment. Also, I am not really looking for an explanation, I just need keywords or sources to get information from. Thanks.

I have been working with computers for sometime now. (really since my freshman year in college). I have a certificate in Information Technology but, I havent been able to get a job in that field. I have helped other people with their computers and also I always upgrade and crashed (which i learned on just doing that on my computer). I do not have the "experience" of actually working for any computer company. I basically taught myself how to use and keep a computer up and running. I also took computer classes microsoft office, installed some hardware (hard drive and floppy) installed software, and installed operating systems. I do not know how to program a computer. but, I know how to make sure that its running smoothly. alot of people say I should go into I.T. but in Chicago, IL, alot of jobs are not really trying to train somebody to fix a computer. I have the skills to do but can not find a job to go with it. do I need to go back to school for more training? or what?

I’ve been through many career changes in the past few years and there is only one thing that stays the same, my job. I’ve worked at walmart for 4 years now and I’ve tried to get out going for jobs in the medical field with schooling in CNA and EMT, in the computer world with self training in computer repair, website design, and programming(not much because no jobs to practice) and insurance. All jobs cost me a lot of money and I’m tired of trying to find a career and training for it without getting the actual job in the end. Does anyone want to hire someone who is capable of doing pretty much anything and can work really hard? I’m not worried about loosing my job at WalMart, I just feel stuck and there is not enough kissing butt in my personality to get a promotion. So I’ve thought about teaching Microsoft Office classes. I’m no expert, but I know there’s a lot of training out there (anyone want to recommend classes/conferences, please do). And I think I could be a good teacher/trainer. But I don’t know how you get "certified" to teach – or where you would even begin to look for jobs – I mean if you were looking at Corporate would you send your resume asking to be the computer trainer? Or is there a better "title". Also I’m not sure "computer trainer" is a valid term in the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Where else could I go to find out more about this "career path"?
I’m finally going to be attending a four year university this fall or in the spring of 2008. I’m looking for a part-time job that pays fairly well. These past few years I’ve been working full time at low-paying retail or restaurants because I don’t really have many marketable skills. I have a bit of money saved up and I’m looking for something specialized that I can take a class or series of classes in so that I can get a decent part-time or start free-lancing. That way when school starts I will still have a decent amount of money coming in for personal expenses.
I’ve thought about website design. And at my community college, I will be able to get a certificate in a few months. The classes would cover the basics I need to get started and I already know how to design graphics. I did this I would try to cater to small business, entrepreneurs, small groups and clubs, etc. I’m not sure how this would work out, so I’m open for suggestions.
I’ve been out of school for the past two years working and payiing off debts. I’ve also saved up a bit so that I can pay out-of pocket for what ever my grants and scholarships couldn’t cover. So, room and board, tuition, books, are hopefully covered and I do not have to worry about those. What I’m really worried about is emergency cash, the little bit of debt that I wasn’t able to completely pay off and the small ongoing bills that I need to keep.
I’m 24 and I’m chooseing to go back to school now, because I’m scared if I wait I’d never go back and I’ll be stuck working dead-end jobs forever.

There is websites that you can sign up with that list all of the major building jobs in the planning or bidding phase. Does anyone know how they get this information without going to each County’s Building Department individually?
Stocks slumbed Friday on data revealing the first monthly employment decline in four years..heightening in vestors’ fears that the credit crunch has developed into a broader economic downturn. however, the market is clearly worried that the wall strrt [ credit crunch] spread to Main Street. "The bullish case was that overseas strength would create demand for U.S. products, jobs would stay strong and the housing problem contained." but on August’s, the payroll drop was below WAll Street expectations of a 112,000-job increase, even after many investors steeled themselves for a below- forcast hiring number following a tepid report earlier this week on private-sector employment by Auto Data Processing and Macroeconomic Advisers.

i want to make money online & the job need small learning curve
the problem from the listed jobs that i mentioned are too competitive .
there are many pro offer’s service in cheap price.
is there a market out there that is not too competitive
i’m not looking for it for a living just for extra income

I have weekends and some nights free every week. I work pretty efficiently, and I’m thinking about getting into the mortgage, loan origination, or insurance brokerage industries on the side. Has anybody done this? Is it possible? Any resources you would suggest? I’m really competent with the internet and building websites, and I have a large local audience that I can advertise to. If not, are there any other jobs to think about?

I have the oportunity to instruct for the company I went to school at. But they only pay 0/month!! They say most instructors build time with them fast enough that they move on to regionals in 5-6 months. Are there other jobs out there that provide lots of multi-engine to qualify me for regionals, in a reasonable amount of time, that pay half-way decent. I don’t need to make a fortune, but enough to live would be nice. websites??
