Ok, so I’ve decided I’d like to start a little project but I’m just wondering am I getting way in over my Head.

I’m 15 and when you guys read this you’re probably just thinking that this is a ridiculous idea, but hear me out.

I’ve researched a little bit and looked in to it and it seems that the tools are out there in plentiful supply but are these tools really what I should be looking at? A site I’ve looked at recommended a few programs. One was BYOND and is mostly used to make racing games or roleplaying games (this sounded pretty ideal as my ‘idea’ is about ships, but also roleplaying). It also mentioned Adobe Flash CS4 and Microsoft Visual C++/Visual Basic Express. These are ones I’ve heard of before and I assume, are fairly popular. So here are my questions about the software:

1)Are they very complicated to use or will i be able to learn most with tutorials?
2)Will i need to learn C++ and if so would someone my age be able to understand it? ( seeing as I’ve heard there are whole degrees in university on the matter)

I’d like the game to be kind of like EVE Online mixed with Runescape (not the size of the games, more the concepts and the way you play them). But I know I’ll have to start out small, but where would you recommend I start (I’ve planned it and would just like to be able to make a ship and a man to start of with, with things to interact with inside the ship etc)?

And if I’ve got all of this completely wrong, just tell me and I’ll forget it because honestly I don’t have a clue what I’m on about and this whole question is based on what I’ve read on the internet.

Also, I dont know if this matters, but my Dad has trained with cisco with networking etc will this help me? And if you want to know my level of knowledge about computers, I’ll just say that I know my way around a computer and I’ve dabbled with modding in games such as TES: Oblivion. Again, will this help?
Ok, so I have found a really nice video tutorial on youtube using Unity 3d. I’m going to have a crack at this

I want to set up my own simple website. My computer operating system is Windows XP and my webpage is in HTML and ready to upload. I will use go daddy as host and they are giving me so many options to upload!!

Which would be the best for a beginner? FileZilla, or creating a network connection with XP, or using Microsoft front page, or should I use go daddy’s "hosting control center" web based FTP client.

This question is important to me because I figure I might have to use this "FTP client" to manage my webpage?? So it might be an important decision. I want to be certain that I make the right choice.

I am interested in getting into the field of fixing / Working with computers for my own home computer personal needs. I am considering On lIne education in this field. My Question is in the schooling of this subject is their much to learn about installing software. Such as ranging from Installing Microsoft Office to installing Anti virus software?

I’m currently a senior in high schooll with two computer/web design college classes under my belt. Our local Senior Services was looking for a cheap but mildly experienced designer to redo their website and I got the job. Now I’m about halfway done and wondering what I should charge them. The client wanted something that she could update herself without going through extensive training say on Adobe Flash or Dreamweaver, so we settled for a very simple website made through Microsoft Publisher. I’ve been using publisher since about 7th grade.

She says she will not let me do this for free, so what should I charge? Should it be hourly or just a lump sum?

Some sort of online manual for things like PowerPoint and Microsoft Word would be helpful; I would also like to learn the basics of programming. Is there an in-depth, informative (but easy-to-understand) website that would help?

I am a computer software test engineer, and in last 5 to 7 years have been assigned to job tasks that are less ‘technical’, or proprietary to my company . . i.e. related to specifically my company’s electronic business vs. for instance, Microsoft skills.

Is best path to go back to school, specific technical courses, or online self-training?

Am interested in others’ specific training plans, if they had to deal with same situation, please?

Was thinking of targeting Visual Studio 5.0, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server . . . is that a good starting place? I need to be able to program and maintain ‘test harness’ code, most likely in C#, and possibly write other test automation code.

Would prefer answers from computing/IT professionals who have been in industry longer than 10 years please?

The Sunday team leader is a lady who is older than me. She came in last year and became our team leader soon after that. Nobody likes her because is so bossy and picky all the time. And she usually reported to the boss what we did when the boss is not around. I was reading some development stuff from the intranet online, and from the webpage I was directed to the Microsoft Training page on softwares. When she saw I was browsing the website that does not belong to the office, she said "don’t you think I won’t tell the boss about it?" Then I asked her what she said, she just said she was joking. Then I read the online bus route timeable that does not belong to the office website to make sure I could catch the bus home after work, she entered my room and glanced at me for a few seconds, I can see that she is going to tell me boss about me browsing different websites online. What should I do?

Well I have a Microsoft Lifecam (which in my opinion is kindof a piece of crap), and it’s fine for all program-based video recording and the like, but when I try and record videos on facebook, or any other website, the camera just doesn’t respond. The built in microphone records audio, but the video doesn’t work. Anybody, help?

Until now I have been doing those trainings without giving people any certifications, I mean certificates. I would like to start giving certifications, is this possible?
