I’m a teacher’s aide during 3rd block at my highschool and whenever she doesn’t have me doing tasks, I listen to music on dizzler. Well a few days ago, the school system’s server blocked it. Now I’m being forced to bring cd’s from home, but that’s not my biggest quam. They have literally blocked EVERYTHING. I try to download updates to programs on the computer, and it blocks it. It try to use aim so I don’t have to walk for forever to tell another teacher something and it blocks it. YouTube is O-U-T. Don’t even UTTER the name Myspace NEAR the computer, or it’ll explode. I can’t research assignments for other classes while I have this spare time because the subject happens to have a keyword that the Board of Education doesn’t like. They’ve blocked all proxy servers, so don’t suggest that I use one. I need another alternative, a FREE one mind you, if possible. I need a way out of this overprotective Hell. Any suggestions?
Chas: Ok man, let’s be realistic here. I’m a senior. I’ve devoted almost 13 years worth of time to my eductation. And I know that the board is just trying to protect us, but it’s getting pretty ridiculous. Being a teacher’s aide is NOT an esteemed position, it means you’re lucky enough to have enough credits to have a "free period with maybe SOME errand running. I don’t need to be lectured, but thanks for the answer anyway.

I’m 16, I’m 17 next month and will be a junior in high school. This is the big year, and my parents have been putting a lot of pressure on me to think about careers and the such. They know what I like, yet they keep insisting they want me to become a teacher and go to a good school, like my older brother (who’s studying to become a surgeon).

The thing is, that’s not what I want to do. My parents know I love music, designing and I love cars, and I decided that I want to become a custom auto technician (customizing people’s cars). I’ve researched it, and I think it’s perfect for me. I love being creative, and I’ll get to work with cars. The only thing is, I’m scared my parents will freak, because I wouldn’t be going to an actual college, like Penn State or Rutgers, etc. It’d just be a technical institute. I don’t want them to think I’m a failure or anything because my brother’s set the bar so high what with him becoming a surgeon. This really is what I want to do, because I just can’t stand finance or math or anything medical. I think it’s perfect for me.

Like out of every 5 established artists/groups/bands (e.g. Linkin Park, Lady Gaga etc.) how many are there that aren’t that popular? was just curious about this since I like a lot of music that seem to have no available online chords……. If anyone knows a program that might help to recognize chords, could you tell me about it? also, is there a good way to train your ear to recognize chords? can you give me some tips about that, if possible? thanks a lot!

I am building a website for class and I would like to add a whole page devoted to music. What I would like to do is have a selection of songs available and when someone chooses to play one, any other music on the page stops and the page displays the lyrics of the chosen song. Is this possible and if so, what code do I need?
