I am looking for an internet host that has a wide variety of templates for building a good website and that has customer support and tutorials for a beginner like myself. I should say a free website builder.
Now bear with me, i’m a complete novice! I’m looking to set up a normal (but visually attractive) website and thought using a template would be a good idea. I like the ones listed here:
http://www.instantshift.com/2009/09/29/99-high-quality-free-xhtmlcss-templates/
But here’s the "however". I have no knowledge of how to actually use them. Would i need to have and know how to use dreamweaver? Ideally i need a program which can allow me to update as per the "wysiwyg" principle! Do you have any recommendations for software?
I don’ t plan on becoming a designer but just want to set up and maintain a website for a club. I’ve tried some free online websites but find they restrict you on how your page is laid out & don’t look that great.
Any advice you can give me?
Many thanks
BTW, they’re over a year old, I do have PageRank, and I have done good SEO for the past long while. I ping at pingoat, I’m in Technorati, I’ve been very careful with duplicate content, especially when doing article marketing (only at the best article directories), have created sitemaps and uploaded to Google Webmaster (which show as successfully indexed), and I have shown up in Digg and other good places. So why no SERPs in Google? I’m targeting long-tail keywords too! Not as much competition! I heard that sometimes Blogger points the Meta tags to nofollow & noindex; is that true? I can’t see much in those weird templates…. What’s up?
My problem is that I want to host more than one domain and Yahoo charges to host each domain, whereas other hosts I’ve been looking at will host several (or unlimited) at no additional cost – the problem is their site builders are difficult to use or the templates are difficult to modify.
I am design website templates and would like to know which businesses have the most websites. What are the top 10 businesses on the web? I dont mean best at whatever they do, I’m looking for quantity. What businesses have more websites than others on the web?
I work for a University that sends e-mails to prospective students. Sometimes there can be over 100 e-mails sent at one time. I am designing a new template to be used for these e-mails. How can I make sure that these e-mails do not get marked as spam? I can’t have our company gray listed as spammers. Is there a website where I can upload my HTML e-mails and it will tell me if hotmail, yahoo, aol, etc… will flag it as spam. I have done some research on keywords, phrases, links, etc.. that e-mail filters will look for. Anyone know of such a site? Just a little background info, the templates have linked images from the school’s websites so they are not very large e-mails. Any help would be appreciated.
Ok I wonder if freelancer and professionals who build websites use Dreamweaver? To build the tables etc..? Or are they doing this from scratch? Or they already have a few templates and build there websites from there and add features etc..??
As web developer not looking to build a site with a tool offer by hostings.
Host companies usually have very easy to use builders with lots of templates. But I am concerned that if I switch hosts (or they go under) that my websites may not be compatible/modifiable at the new host.
are there any online html editors (or website builders or anything) that are not tied to hosting?
example: is there ANY online way to edit a page on my site hosted on godaddy (except use of godaddy’s own lame system) ????
if the website builders and templates and all that stuff is ONLY a FEATURE of a hosting service, then why all the big promotion of the ‘website builders’ and ‘online html editors’ by independent parties?
with all the yelling about "online" this and that and "web 2.0", is the situation truly that in order to edit my godaddy hosted sites i must either use their lame/lousy online tools or be tied to my own computer hard drive? There is NO OTHER online/web-based solution for editing html pages???? TIA for any clarification
what about online editing of files that i can access online directly in ftp space? I now can go to ftp space in browser, but have to edit even trivial html files offline. There isn’t even something as simple as Notepad online???? Or ANYTHING that i can use online for simple editing?
Not looking for free. If the online tool allows me to do simple edits, like adding links, when i away from my own computer, i will pay a lot. / Buying Dreamweaver for what i need (simple things like adding links to a page) would be like hiring the Dallas Cowboys to put away my groceries: It would be total overkill; it would cost lots and lots of time to learn how to get them to put the stuff where i want it; and i’d be totally tied to my desk. Investing in Dreamweaver would be like buying a luxury house-prison that can’t move one inch, when what i need is a way to do simple tasks away from my desk.
I’m looking to get my first website. I need something thats easy to set-up and was looking at some of the premade templates at webs.com. Is this a good host? I purchased a domain name on godaddy a few months ago but didnt like any of their pre-made templates and I’m not skilled enough to create one of my own. Anybody have any good advice for a beginner like me? I’m pretty much a starving artist so the more money I save, the better- keep that in mind. Thanks for all your help in advance people!
If I were to hire a freelance webmaster to make a page for my small business, what would the average cost be?
I need to be able to sell things on-line, and it has to showcase all of my items for sale in an online "store" type environment.
I am not talking about buying pre-made templates or anything, I just need to know what a basic webpage is going for nowadays. Lets also say, its not a flash website.
Hi. Im starting a small business out of my home. I will be selling. I have no clue about making a website but Im pretty creative. I bought a domain through weebly, and now Im lost. I dont like any of their layouts/templates and I dont know the website "lingo". Wheres an easy place for me to start?
Whatever website that has the best templates and has the best overall value.
What company offers the best website creater service? Lowest prices, multiple templates, and impressive user attractions such as chat, forum and other integrated features? Also, how do I get my website listed on a search engine such as Yahoo and Google?
I am in real estate, and buying up many domain names. I plan to create town portal sites in my areas, and also want to redo my real estate site myself, rather then generic site. Ive used sites such as SBI, but want something much nicer looking, but still SEO. I am willing to put time into learning Dreamweaver, but see that there are new versions, vs. old versions. Anyone have any advice on which one to buy, and where?
Does Dreamweaver come w/ templates if i dont want to create them all from scratch?
Also, i want to SEO all my sites, does Dreamweaver do this, or do i need to buy books on how to learn this? Any recomendations there?
Thanks!
