I am doing a research project and need to create a web site that features hundreds of photos. Each photo has a lengthy caption. The site visitor needs to be able to do a keyword search and call up all the photos whose captions match the keywords in their search. Some of the photo captions need to have hot links to other pages. In essence, the site is a home page, a searchable photo database with text that describes the photos, a message board or email link, and about 10 more pages of text about other topics.
I have never done a web site. I have a domain name and a web host. The easy part. Now, what program to use? I’d appreciate your opinion as to whether I should spend the money and buy DreamWeaver or if I could use the free KomPozer or how I could determine if one of the web-builder programs offered by the web hosting companies might work ????
Thanks for your help!

What’s the best and most cost effective way to get visitors to my blog without spending a small fortune? Should I use Pay Per Click, Article Marketing, Video Marketing or something else? Thanks for your help?

I was reading an article online tonight about how marketing is now shifting to people putting advertisements on the side of their cars and companies paying those people to just drive around with their ad on the side of their cars. I wanted to know how I can get involved in a job like that and how I would even start out by doing that. Im hoping someone on here can help me and has some advice about what I should do or where I should go. Thanks for your help!

I can write pretty good but for some reason i always have trouble coming up with titles and sub titles. Anyway, i want to start a new blog, the blog will mostly be about how to make money online with subjects such as article writing, article marketing, general marketing, affiliate marketing, blogging, possibly CPA, will not include PTC, PTS, MLM, and those types of methods.

Thanks for your help

i think the article was in popular science. it was about a building that was completely energy and environmentally efficient. i read the article at my local library about a year or so ago. since i don’t know the title i’ve tried using keywords and such to try and find it, using google and various college database search engines, but haven’t had any luck. i really don’t want to try to buy a years worth of popular science and read them trying to find it. the library i read it at has gotten rid of the issue.

that’s all the info i have, i hope someone can help me!
aahazelip: no it is not the article, but i appreciate your help! i think i might be able to use this.

the article was about a building that was designed but had not yet been built.

again, thanks for your help!

Is there any regulation regarding this type of thing? The covers of some of these magazines can be quite revealing & not the type of thing I want my child to see as I stop in to pick up groceries. I thought these mags had to be sold in a wrapper or behind the counter. Any ideas how I might research this? (A general keyword search on google didn’t provide much info.) Thanks for your help.

@ Jenny

looks promising, thanks for your help

1) Find a niche or topic
2) Find keywords for the niche or topic
3) Research the keywords for daily searches and websites currently competing for those keyword/s.
4) Research the competition currently ranking for those keywords to check their SEO armor, site structure, links, etc.
5) Create the site around the keyword phrase and do all the SEO things that the competition is and isn’t doing to out rank them in the search engines.

Sound about right???? Thanks for your help…please be as specific as possible if this isn’t correct and as to why…thanks…

I’ve seen ads for such companies as Geek Squad and Make It Work in home computer support companies. I think this is a much needed service they provide and they do software and hardware support, repairs and troubleshooting. I have been to some of the websites, but there doesn’t seem to be much info about what training a tech needs to work for companies like these. Do you need an IT or computer science degree or do the companies train their own people?

Anyone can respond with their experience and knowledge, Thanks for your help

I am growing interest in building and designing websites and have gotten through learning html. Now, I would like to move on to php, but I would like your help in deciding which book is a good source for learning about this topic. Thanks for your help! =]

After years of staying home with my kids I am intending to open a small freelance business next year. Having been a Marketing Director, I am very familiar with art-directing. Through charity work, I’ve learned how to piece together a brochure or pop up a website (not bad considering I have no formal training)

Now, in preparation for next year, I would like to self teach myself the proper way. Question is, where do I start learning…

Photoshop? Illustrator? Dreamweaver?

Or, do I learn web development fundamentals first then move onto perfecting the above?

I have tutorials bookmarked and with my basic knowledge am confident I can learn … I just don’t know where to start! Thanks for your help :0)
