I’m 17, Homeschooled, And i want to start learning (Or training) with computer code before the times comes that i have to enter college.

For my job, I have always wanted it to be something involving computers, But it would make me feel better if i started preparing myself for it now then in the future. I always want to try my hand at designing video games as well.

I have no clue where to start though, So i was wondering if anybody knew any good books/websites/purchasable training software from an electronic store/etc that have been working well for other computer users.

Thanks in advance

im only 15 (yes im young) but for years ive wanted to be a graphic designer. working with video games and stuff like that. are there any training classes i can take? and is there any professional software i can buy for my computer to get a feel of what its like?

I think I love computers, but I know almost nothing about them and I really and suck at math. However, I think I can work past a lot of that. Mainly I am an artist, but I am thinking of working in animation and new media which requires lots of computer use. I think it would be nice to be one of those geeky guys that can build a computer from a paper clip and two tin cans. Essentially I’d like to be able to run my own system, network of back up computers or render farm, and also fix some software issues and possibly develop software for learning games and video games. So basically fix computers in general and build them and be able to create programming. I’ve heard building computers is fairly easy. But what job title am i seeking and What degree or certificate would I need. Where can I go to learn this stuff? How long would it take to learn.?
I did the art school thing, (know a little about photoshop, not so much Maya , but I can learn )and have a MA ( for what little thats worth). But would I need to get another bachelors in systems or IT? Or could I go through some kind of basic training program in less time? maybe a year or two? If I decided to work in IT what does it usually pay? What could I earn? big bucks would be nice. I guess my ultimate goal is to marry the technical and the creative somehow. I’ve been considering a return to school perhaps for a Phd in art/new media or education and technology. But the catch 22 is that I’d have to learn the tech stuff first. So I guess I need the best route to get there. And hopefully then I can double my income too.

Does anyone know if the Canton Flea Market in Canton, Texas has any video games of any kind?

It seems video games would be a profitable thing to invest in, for the stock market. I’m not looking to invest just wondering what kind of dividends are earned on video game stock.

Hey everyone, I’m just trying to help a friend out. It’s a very short survey about video games for one of his courses. I said I’d post it on here since he doesn’t have a Yahoo account. If you have a second please help him out. Thank you! Here’s the link…

Hello ^_^

I am currently looking into purchasing a projector and projector screen to display video games on a larger surface.

After checking out what’s on the market I noticed there are inexpensive business projectors and much more expensive home theater projectors.

I’m just wondering if I can get a satisfactory image from inexpensive business projectors, or if I need to purchase a home theater projector to get a satisfactory image out of my video games.

also… does the projector screen i purchase really matter?

Most sold video games.

I wanted to sell used video games to Gamestop for cash. I told them I sell video games at flea market. They said I was a "dealer" and was therby prohibited from selling to them, then they bought games from the next person in line. Is this legal?
I told them I was a dealer because they asked why the games were in like new shape. I wasn’t selling them for profit. I was desparate for money.

It seems story lines for video games are often the weakest link in most video games, which has me wondering, is there not a demand for good story lines, or is there a shortage of qualified writers? Are there much opportunities for someone interested in writing story lines for video games? If you can reference specific fields (rpg, rts, fps, etc) or companies (EA, Rockstar Games, Activision, etc) that would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.

I was clearing out my closet and I found a lot of video games for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. I know it’s obsolete; however, it would be a shame to just throw them out since they are in excellent condition and still in their original box. Perhaps there are people out there who like to collect nostalgic video game stuff?

I want to run a website business that’s just like amazon.com, but I’m a little confused, how do I earn money if I need to use that money to buy more products? Do I start by selling small products, like video games?

Out of fast food, dangerous sports, and video games rated "’M’ for mature," choose the product or activity you feel most strongly should not be marketed to children.

Recently I was victimized by a marketer of online video games in the Boston area! (Also the Home of the Biggest Federal Contracting scam in recent US History–The Infamous Big Dig!) The owner claims to have made millions marketing over 50K video games and claims to be the only legal way to market these types of games online. This is obviously wrong! Anybody else have a problem with:
www.egameplace.com

Claims to be a "serial entrepreneur"!!!

Let me know!

I work at a store that sells video games but It’s been hard on getting people to buy them, can someone give Ideas on how to increase profit without it being cost effective?
P.S. We Have done Fliers and Balloons
also If there’s a Website that can help me with Ideas I’d be very greatful
