My church has an out of date website that we would like to have updated, but we do not have a web designer anymore. However, our church secretary is interested in working on the site and updating it, but she doesn’t have much experience in web design.

What would be a good program for a beginner to use to start designing a website.

Thanks.

I am in Pennsylvania. I have been at my job for almost 5 months. I was hired as an Administrative Assistant and the job was very laid out and I was keeping up fine. Then my boss started throwing more things at me that I’m not qualified to do. Such as accounts payable. Sometimes I make mistakes and then he threatens my job. I am not an accountant and wasn’t hired as such. Then, he pulled me into his office on 2 occasions and told me that in 2 weeks he would reevaluate me and let me know if I was going to keep my job, but every reason he said was so confusing that thinking about it now, I don’t even know why he did it. Then, recently, he came to me and asked if I knew how to make a website. I told him I had ONE coding class and knew some basics. He fires his web designer and then tells me to design this website. I gave it my all and when I couldn’t get any further as I am not a web designer, wasn’t hired as one and never trained to be one, I told him that I did the best I could do. I told him that I am ill equipped to design a web site. He then told me that I needed to get it done within an hour or two or he’ll take me off the job because I’m not applying myself. I’ve given this job 100% of my effort, but one day he says it’s not good enough and the next I’m so smart he doesn’t know what he’d do without me. he is trying to force me to do this site and yet again, subtly threatened my position with this very small Nationwide branch of 6 people. I am walking on eggshells, I’m being forced to perform duties that I am not equipped to perform, and I"m being subtly threatened when I tell him that I can not do it. Also, I am being asked to Lie in regard to another "business" he runs out of his nationwide office. Nationwide will not allow him to agent their business if he’s running something else, so I’m am to say that this large map with thumbnails in it is his vacation destinations while it is actually all the places he insures. Is this valid reason to quit my job and get unemployment?

I am starting up a small business and would like to find the best web hosting service with domain name to store my site.
I have created web sites using iWeb before and it would be helpful if there were templates that I can use to help me design my pages as I am not a web designer.
I was looking into hostgator, but I’m not sure if they allow you your own .com domain. I like their 0 Google Adwords credit for signing up.

If you know of someone who knows how to build websites, or if you are a web designer, please contact me. I need one on one training as I am a little slow when it comes to computers.

So I wish to build websites for companies, create online stores, blogs…just about any type of website a regular web designer could create for his customers.
Please tell me what programming languages should I learn for making good looking websites.
How long would it take to achieve this?

I am considering an online webmaster course at FSU (http://learningforlife.fsu.edu/cpd/techn… for 00.

I plan to do this because it will be possible to do from home, freelance, and I can continue easily when I move to Europe. I also have a bachelors in something I don’t wish to persue.

–What is the difference between graphic designer and web designer?

–Are great art skills needed for this career? (I know when something looks good, but can barely get by with stick creatures)

–What besides design and code language should I focus on?

–Can you recommend a great online course to persue this career? (Is 00 a good price for whats provided?)

–Is there a website that will answer these questions, so I can stop bothering you all?

–Lastly, Is there an abundance of web/graphic designers? (aka will I have trouble finding work once go through all this training?)

Would love to hear feedback from people in the field. Thank You!

I’m not sure how the procedure is, but I know that if you’re a web designer and you are willing to offer your services on that website you just register and wait for someone to contact and in order to build a site for him/her.

I’m a web designer and programmer with, according to friends and associates, a gift for teaching. I have a thought for promoting a course in web design, and would like some feedback from fellow marketers and potential clients, to see if I may be shooting myself in the foot.

One of the primary strategies to win customers over from competitors is to offer a better deal, right? But, at what point does that deal become so good that you start looking for "the catch" in the fine print?

What I’m planning on doing is offering an intensive, step-by-step online course in web design, with the focus being the birth of a PROFITABLE website, from concept to launch, with a lot of hand-holding and hands-on training, online or maybe off.

What I’m hoping this will result in? Future paying clients, for more complex services like usability studies and programming specific web applications, or perhaps a pay site with more sophisticated topics like database optimization.
So then, what, at a gut level, appeals more. Or reduces suspicion and elevates trust? Offering an initial service for free, perhaps to a limited number of clients? Or having an up-front fee for the service?

I am a small business owner in the Indianapolis area and I am looking for a local web designer to help me design my website. I am not sure what I should be looking for in a web design company or what prices they charge. How can I find current prices for web design in Indianapolis? Can anyone recommend someone?

Hello I am a beginner Web Designer and I have Windows XP.

Hey, I’ve searched the internet for such information, but came up disappointed. Some things I would like to know are:

1.What a typical day as a web designer would be like
2.Hours per week and if you can you work at home
3.Work environment
4.Training I’d require
5.Promotional opportunities
6.Post secondary training options
7.wages (hourly, weekly, annually)
8.What state(s) would be the best to live in to get a career as a website designer

I’m really interested in looking into pursuing a career in website design. Any and all information, including some not asked for specifically above, would be most appreciated.
