what are good & easy places to build websites for free?
I’m not looking for a really plain looking website, but yet I’m not a pro at making it from scratch. I’m looking for a place where I can share my writing, but not as simple as a blog where people have to scroll down to read. Pictures and icons would be nice.

Yahoo has a free site builder either online or downloadable. The catch is you gotta get their service to put it online. If you just want to practice tho you can download it for free

They all are usually pretty straight forward, all you have to do is sign up for it. Most offer a "Control Panel" which links to page builders, templates etc.
