What are the best websites are to post requests for work as freelancer in building simulation, specializing in eQUEST? I mainly work with architects and HVAC engineers.

Craigslist.com is the best for you. Its the most visited free website that everyone knows.
First, the biggest ones. As the crowd is large, there is a better chance to find "exotic" jobs. As many different people need many different things it makes easier to find a good price for your specific skills. Try GetAFreelancer ( http://www.getafreelancer.com/ ) and Elance ( http://www.elance.com/p/landing/provider.html ).
Alternatively you could check up CAD Ground ( http://www.cadground.com/ ) I think.
