It’s a standard set by the W3C consortium to benchmark how accessible your website is to different users with different limitations (e.g.: users with browsers that don’t support CSS, JavaScript, images, etc, users with visual impairment, users with hearing impairment, etc).

Point 6 gives you the breakdown of what you need to do to make your website conform with the accessibility standard (to different levels).
It basically says that your website adheres to best-practices for accessibility. A is the basic level, AA is more advanced, and AAA is the top level.
There are dozens of points and some are a little vague, e.g. ensure good colour contrast and avoid page flicker. However, websites that adhere to the principles can be viewed by a larger audience of internet users – definitely a good thing.
