What is the easiest, cheapest way to build a website?
I tried Joomla, and it is too hard for me… I’m completely new to building websites… what other options are there?

Another alternative is wordpress.com. If you like a blog style site and the advantages this can give you with search engines then the hosted WordPress solution is the way to go.
Use a free online website building service like:
- Webs (http://www.webs.com/)
- Google Sites (http://sites.google.com)
- Blogger (http://www.blogger.com)
You could try registering with http://www.freewebs.com.
They give you free server space to host your website and they also have a built in tool to create websites so that you don’t need to purchase Microsoft FrontPage or Adobe Dreamweaver (formerly known as Macromedia Dreamweaver).
http://www.weebly.com is the easiest, cheapest and most powerful one I know of. Its free (pro option for $5) and you can use drag and drop to layout the pages however you want.
try yahoo geocities or homestead. thats about as easy as you can get.
Try Blink Web or Wix, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag and drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube and google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats and more. You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free and make it your own (www.yourown.com)
If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try Homestead, XSitePro or Sitebuilder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts.
