What software is suitable for website-building for beginners?
I used to use notepad and the html view of microsoft word but it doesn’t work on this computer (windows vista). What other software is suitable for building simple websites?

I attended 0 lessons and managed with this software.
If for some reason word didn’t work you can try OpenOffice’s Writer program, it’s pretty much a MS Word clone and a pretty good one actually. Their website says it does work as a web page editor.

You could also try Mozilla Composer, though it’s been discontinued.
There’s this other one called SeaMonkey Composer:

The professional alternative is Adobe Dreamweaver.
