What would you like to see on a website about dogs?
As a learning experience, I’m going to build a website about dogs. I’ve wanted to learn how to design a site for years, so I might as well do it about something I enjoy. I plan to include information on simple topics like housebreaking, obedience training and diet. (I know there are plenty of sites like this already, but I’m not doing this to be original.)
What *specific* things would you like to see on such a website? Exactly what sort of training advice, for instance? A housebreaking regimen? How to teach a dog to sit? How and why to choose a good food? About choosing a breed that suits you? A diary of my own dog’s life?
Good idea, PK. I’m not qualified to give much medical info, though, just basic tips.
Haha, I like the "MyDog" idea, funny play on Myspace.

I would like to see a website that tells the truth about how much work a puppy is.
I want a website to tell people that older dogs are actually better for most people.
Why?
People get puppies not realizing that it’s just like having a baby.
With a puppy you need to get up in the night to let it out.
You need to deal with teething, crying, potty training, teaching manners, EVERYTHING you do for a child.
Puppies are hyper.
Puppies chew.
Puppies have accidents.
The entire first year of a puppy’s life is EXHAUSTING WORK!!! until the "kid" learns, matures, and grows up.
People just see an adorable pup and forget what a pain in the butt it is.
On the other hand…
Once a dog hits 1 year old, they become great pets. Older dogs have bladder control. They’ve learned manners. They sleep the night through. They can be left alone for longer.
People get frusterated with puppies and give them away right as they’re starting to learn their lessons. I used to volunteer with the SPCA, and can’t tell you how many wonderful, trainable dogs are left at shelters because the "parents" are fed up with the puppy problems that those dogs will grow out of in a relatively short time.
Eating cats.
How about medical information?
Maybe you can make your own account and make a journal of what your pet has done that is funny…make a story book, like what is your dog like…pictures….and details of ur dog…stuff like that you know?
you could call it….MyDog or MyPup or K-9 Journal
