Will the marketing of the OnLive console spell the extinction of the conventional video game console?
I believe it is so.
OnLive is just TOO affordable,and almost everyone can get HD 7-Gen games on their Windows 98 PC or conventional TV set.
Makes me regret buying my Xbox 360 a bit…*sigh*
Okay..mr.Android(hey,did you get that from Fallout 3?),your answer is convincing…but I guess the whole world really has to wait and see what OnLive can really do to the videogaming world.
Very good points.
I agree,I would get really mad if I were to lose my favourite game in the case of a server malfunction.
I think I feel a little happier to own a 7-Gen console for now…

i doubt it will be good i mean the reason why it will be a failure is because of online you know i don’t think it will work and lets be honest how will it not LAG
There are more reasons to say it wont than will at the moment;
1. the majority of console owners aren’t online at the moment
2. It only works within a certain distance of the server so it needs to have a good infrastructure from the start to work.
3. It needs to be very reliable – how pi*sed would you be if you can’t play anything you want because the server’s down.
4. What happens to your games? Should the server disappear in the future for some reason, so does all your content?
…..
I like what the Android said! It will NEVER take over!

Consoles will always have the power over PC or ConnectTV gaming.
The answer is simple. Consoles have more to offer to gaming.
> Consoles have more games
> Consoles have better gameplay (controls, online, in-game)
> Consoles will most likely be cheaper in the long run (considering all purchases)
> Consoles are far more popular and reliable for gamers
OnLive will never take over, unless gaming companies give up.

No, I did not get the name from Fallout 3.
An Android is a robot with the form of a male human. I use the name because I consider myself a geek and I wanted a geeky name, so I settled with Android.
OnLive=fail.
That kind of thing just won’t happen. Not everyone has the internet on their consoles or at all anyway, and consoles have more games. Also, if the connection is slow, the games will run slower.
Face it, it’s just another one of those crappy gaming excuses.
It may catch on but I doubt if it’ll replace console gaming as we know it unless Sony, MS and Nintendo decide to go that route instead of releasing new consoles every 5 or so years.
No.
Sony has announced something known as the PS Cloud.
Something like OnLive.
Well, if Onlive is as good as they say it is, and it works lag free like they claim it will, then it will slowly kill off console gaming. More then likely Microsoft, or Sony (already working on Playstation Cloud) will make a system to compete with Onlive within a year of Onlive’s release.
